Tracey Percival (Dance Teacher)

I began to learn to dance from age 4 when I joined Sylvera School of Dance. I have appeared i

n many dance shows and productions/pantomimes on stage. Later moving on to help backstage on

productions and most recently chaperoning and assisting the young performers.

Teaching dancing is the highlight of my week. We have a lot of fun during classes and i

t is a joy to watch the students progress and learn each grade. I then love to see them

looking so confident and smart entering their exams. I especially enjoy our bi-annual show,

where I get to see the vision I have in my head progress to a performance on the stage. We are

always made proud by everyone who is performing and seeing the excitement backstage is priceless.

Jenny Tallowin Snee (Musical Theatre Teacher)

I first painted a stage with my dad at the age of three and theatre has been my passion ever since.

I’ve performed at the Geoffrey WhitworthTheatre, the Churchill Bromley and the Waterloo East Theatre,

among others, but have always considered Erith Playhouse as ‘home’. My favourite roles to date

include Maria (the Sound of Music), Nancy (Oliver), Emily (Hired Man) and any panto –from the camel to

the Queen and everything in between! I also enjoy writing and directing.

Since having the first of my three children (they all attend the Nicky Bate School) I completed an English

degree, specialising in speech and language and have taught in schools in various capacities for the

last seven years.

I now run ‘Play On!’ delivering drama workshops in local schools and theatres. I’m passionate about the

positive effects of drama and am excited to have joined Nicky’s team.

Nicky Bate (School Owner and Principal)

I am a Primary School Teacher and a fully qualified Dance Teacher with the International

Dance Teachers Association. I trained at Sylvera School of Dance from the age of 4 in the

three disciplines of ballet, tap and jazz. Ballet being my particular passion. I had the most

wonderful dance teachers and they helped nurture my love of dance and encouraged me

to go on to become a dance teacher and set up my own dance school.

I have performed in numerous dance shows over the years. I have also choreographed and

appeared in many Pantomimes and Musicals at various local theatres; I have been part of a

chorus and have had lead roles. I have acted in a variety of plays of different genre, taking both main parts and supporting roles.

I love all aspects of performing arts and I feel very privileged that I am able to give others the opportunity to have access to this

wonderful experience.

Running a dance school combines my passions of dancing, teaching and performance. I am always looking for innovative ways

to make dancing and performing enjoyable and fulfilling.
